Career Ops · Block G

Catch ghost jobs before you waste a weekend.

Every evaluation checks whether a posting is a real, active opening — using posting age and your own scanner's history, not a guess from the job-ad text.

At a glance

  • 14d · reposting threshold

A URL visible two-plus weeks before its claimed posted date trips the reposting flag.

  • From your data, not the ad

Other tools guess from the posting text. We use posting age and your own scan history — facts, not vibes.

  • Private by design

Your scan history is yours alone; it never informs another user's evaluation.

  • Context-aware tiers

The verdict defaults to caution when data is thin, and never lands on 'suspicious' without concrete signals.

How it works

How Ghost-Job Detector works

  1. 01

    Server-side facts first

Before any AI runs, we compute the posting's age and exactly when your scanner first saw the URL — concrete facts, not inferences.

  2. 02

    Reposting heuristic

If you saw the URL more than 14 days before its claimed posted date, that's the classic refresh-and-repost pattern — and we flag it with the exact lead time.

  3. 03

    A grounded verdict

Block G returns a tier — high confidence, proceed with caution, or suspicious — with every signal labeled by source: extracted, scan history, or inferred.

  4. 04

    Observations, not accusations

Every signal carries an innocent explanation, and the model accounts for roles (government, academic, staff+) that legitimately stay open for months.
